THE ENDING MATTERS
Psalm 150
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: Praise him in the firmament of his power. 2 Praise him for his mighty acts: Praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: Praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: Praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: Praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
BECAUSE OF THE BLESSED MAN & RISEN SON…
• All the Psalms between the introduction and conclusion help God’s people respond to Yahweh and His eternal Son with praise by His Holy Spirit until all creation praises His name.
PRAISE YAHWEH IN EARTH & HEAVEN (v1)
• All God’s creation in heaven and earth is made to be God’s sanctuary of praise.
Q: How would it shape your view of the world if you saw it all as the sanctuary God created for His praise?
PRAISE YAHWEH FOR HIS MIGHTY ACTS & EXCELLENT GREATNESS (v2)
• God and all His deeds are worthy of endless praise.
Q: How might you better praise God by seeing His mighty acts as coming from His excellent greatness?
PRAISE YAHWEH WITH GATHERED MUSIC & CELEBRATION (v3-5)
• Much of why we gather is to praise and celebrate our God with all our being.
Q: Have you considered how our congregational singing is not first for us but rather first a service of praise to God? Do you serve God in our singing?
PRAISE YAHWEH, ALL HAT HAS BREATH (v6)
• God’s work through His Son produces praise from all God’s creatures in all heaven and earth (Psalm 96; 103; 145; 148; Revelation 5:13; Philippians 2:10-11).
Q: Are you living now for what our Creator and Sovereign God is accomplishing in all heaven and earth?
